A workshop for caregivers struggling to keep up with parenting, community care, and advocacy work.
A workshop for caregivers struggling to keep up with parenting, community care, and advocacy work.
Parenting is already intense. And now you're also protecting your kids and community from an oligarchy of jerks in late-stage capitalism while fighting for basic human rights. No wonder you're maxed out!
Whether you've taken on too much, feel guilty for not doing more, or you're just barely hanging on, it's easy to get distracted from your family and the issues that matter most to you.
This workshop isn't about hustling and working harder - because you're not lazy, you're overloaded. It's time to assess the demands on your attention in a way that energizes you while still showing up for your community.
Your daily to-do list is absurdly long
…but a single email, text, or school crisis scatters your attention, ending the day with even more to-do’s on tomorrow’s list.
You live in a haze of guilt
Am I doing enough for my kids? My community? The world? (And it always feels like the answer is ‘no.’)
You have great ideas and skills to share
…but get easily derailed by researching, planning, and tweaking, only to lose steam before seeing results from all that hard work.
Get focused and be present when your kids need you without that nagging urge to rush back to work. Create memories together without the distraction of a million tabs open in your brain.
Support your community without snapping at the people you care about, silently keeping score, or lying awake at night ruminating. Show up for the people who rely on you without over-promising or pushing yourself to the point of bitterness.
Instead of bookmarking your list of 'some day' adventures alone to gather dust, create time to try new things, shift gears, and mess up, without feeling like you're falling behind.
You can't achieve collective liberation by cramming more responsibilities onto your shoulders alone.
(I don't mean this as an insult - but you're just not that powerful.)
Relying on 'life hacks' and bootstraps shows our kids how to comply with oppression, not to overthrow it.
Join us as we model sustainable resistance for our families and community.
This workshop was designed specifically for neurodivergent parents — giving you simple, adaptable tools to cut through the busywork, prioritize the causes you care about, and support your community without melting into a puddle of goo.
Start getting your chaos in order with one short lession each week.
You’ll learn how to quickly sort the urgent from the unimportant, so you can spend your limited energy on what actually matters to you and your family.
We’ll build simple systems to reclaim your time — even when everyone is pulling you in different directions.
You’ll get tools to spot time-wasters, protect your boundaries, and reclaim your attention before things get out of control.
Break free from the 'rushing to catch up / falling behind' doom spiral with simple, actionable steps — even when you feel exhausted and distracted by never-ending demands on your time.
Stay agile through setbacks and keep focused on your most important initiatives, even when your kid's home sick and the dishwasher explodes.
Learn how to set reasonable boundaries, conserve your energy, and continue to show up for your family and community without shame or self-flagellation.
Stay focused even when the bus is late, your kids are screaming, and you've got a protest to organize.
Find collaborators who 'get it' and welcome your feedback - without having to mask, hide who you are, or fear making mistakes.
Each weekly lesson video is 7-15 minutes long, and then give yourself 5 to 30 minutes to engage and reflect on the material. Maybe more, if you'd like to join the chat group. Our reflections and chat group are designed to join on the go - while washing dishes, commuting, or brushing your teeth.
Our workshop starts in the first week of May and lasts for five weeks. Every Monday, I'll email you with a super short lesson and then check in with you via the chat group later in the week.
If joining with others, please make sure each person registers independently for the workshop. If you'd like to work together in private cohort, you can select this option during registration.
No need to shift your schedule around. All lessons are recorded, so you can watch them any time during the 5 week course to apply at your own pace. If you want to chat with the facilitator or other members, you can do so 24/7 through our asynchronous video and voice chat, and share your thoughts on the member portal with written comments.
Yes — especially if you feel like you’re not doing 'enough' or you're nervous that you don't know 'enough' about issues to make a difference.
This workshop is made for parents who’ve been shamed, sidelined, or dismissed for 'not doing enough.' You don’t need credentials to make a difference — just the willingness to start where you are.
While most of our discussions center the challenges of juggling advocacy and survival on top of the labor of caregiving, all our strategies are helpful for non-parents too.
Whether you're a parent, other type of caregiver, or lone agent, you're welcome to join us, just be aware that we will be centering the voices and experiences of parents caring for children under 18.
To join us in 2025, register by April 30.
Hi, I’m Ashia Ray — a neurodivergent parent raising two kids while running Raising Luminaries, organizing for local change, showing up for my people, and occasionally even managing to read books and putter in the garden.
I built this workshop for caregivers - people pulled in many directions between community advocacy, parenting, and surviving capitalism - all while navigating executive dysfunction, neurodivergence, and mental health conditions.
I know what it feels like to never be doing 'enough.' Over the past decade, I’ve helped thousands of overwhelmed, justice-minded parents model sustainable care work, reclaim their energy, and fight for progressive policy change and community inclusion.
If you’re tired, overloaded, and feel like most parenting & activism spaces aren't quite welcoming - I built this for you.
