BOOK REVIEW

Learn how we calculate the overall awesomeness score of books.

About the reviewer:

My name is Isabela. I’m 7 years old.

My favorite sport is soccer and my favorite colors are purple and orange (right now – they change a lot). I am a transgender girl.

What's this book about?

That nobody else besides their mom makes Miu Lan feel like they fit in in the world until the very end.

My thoughts:

One of the morals is that everybody can play anything and to try to make friends.

People should learn from this book to respect everybody. If you see someone that’s sad, make friends with them.

The illustrating and writing were very good.

Who is this book for?

I recommend this story for…3-5 year olds and kids who aren’t reading chapter books yet. Grownups also.

Who is missing from this story?

People who use wheelchairs, people who wear hijabs

Is this book #OwnVoices*?

[Unanswered…. but yes. Kai Cheng Thom is a queer Asian Canadian trans woman.]
