Unpolished Book Lists

Hello, friends!

These unpolished book notes were originally locked content for folks who donated to support Books For Littles. However, in 2020 we unlocked this content for the public to make things a little easier for caregivers locked in isolation with kids bouncing off the walls.

This is a non-exhaustive starter list of some collections that I didn’t have the time to flesh out into full toolkits. These bare-bones book lists assume:

  • You’ve been following Books For Littles for a while and understand our review principles.
  • You understand that not all books are for all readers
  • These are not formatted for public consumption (no fancy links, some cussing, these are basically brain-barf.) Expect typos and formatting errors.
  • I haven’t had a chance to fully research books outside my lane to make sure they’re approved by #OwnVoices critics, like I do with the books I post for the public.

For the sake of me being overwhelmed and also very lazy, this book list is automatically generated, sorted, and updated whenever I add a new rough book list.

Ashia Ray is the founder of Raising Luminaries.

I’m Autistic, multiracial (Chinese/Irish) 2nd-generation settler raising two children alongside my partner on the homelands of the Wampanoag and Massachusett people. I support families and educators in raising the next generation of kind & courageous leaders, so we can all smash the kyriarchy together.

Raising Luminaries is rooted in the unceded land of the Wampanoag & Massachusett People.

Land acknowledgements are worthless without action. So we prioritize amplifying Indigenous-lead resources in our toolkits and reciprocate annual donations to our local Wôpanaâk Language school.
