COLLAB LAB EXPERIMENT

Is your kiddo struggling with transitions?

From getting kids out the door in the morning to starting kindergarten, let's warm our kids up to transitions without melting down.

Transitions Lab: Challenges, Ideas & Resources

In the Luminary Braintrust Collab Lab, we explore ways to support our kids through transitions, big and small.

From getting the kids out the door in the morning to significant life milestones like starting school or moving to a new home, we struggled with supporting our kids through uncertainty, ambivalence, and the meltdowns that come with disrupting our kiddos’ routines.

Together we discussed our family challenges, brainstormed ideas, and shared the strategies that work for us.

Through our discussions, we determined that it’s not just our kids who need help through transitions.

We all grow short on patience and find it hard to be our best selves during periods of chaos and uncertainty. So while, sure, it’d be great to learn all the best practices for calming our kids down and leading them through to the next stage, what we really need is a personal support maintaining a grip while caring for our kids and managing the mental load.

So we compiled & built the following resources to support not just your kids, but also you as you prepare for wharever’s coming next.

Big thanks to our Luminary Braintrust Autumn 2024 Transition Lab Collaborators:

Lena H., Alison L. Shannon B.S., Rebecca B., Kara A., Tricia L., and Ashia R.

These are the badasses who opened up on our honest challenges with transitions, shared what works for us (and what doesn’t), and brainstormed resources to help other caregivers to share below.
