Coming up next
Next in this series about ageism – we’ll examine stories about older mentors and how these stories give kids a grasp on humility, patience, and the importance of learning from lived experience. Without swinging the pendulum all the way into childism.
This is a living series, so I’ll probably add more books to this list as we go along. I might take a pause through February while I work on some other things, so follow my updates on Patreon to get monthly email notifications as this series continues. Since I provide these resources for free, this is also an opportunity to support my work.
At the end of this series, I’ll publish a syllabus for patrons with a list of resources about ageist microaggressions and kid-friendly tools to unpack them. For existing supporters, check out our saviorism in kidlit book list analyzing white, able, and male-savior tropes for more on this topic.
