Hi Friends!

Okay the problem with reducing our LBT updates to once a month is that by the time another month has rolled by I’ve created TOO MANY THINGS and now it’s too much!

Especially in autumn, when I’m feeling that squirrely impulse to HARVEST ALL THE STUFF before winter.

Luckily, you can just rifle through all of this at your leisure, and enjoy them in January when my brain turns into a popsicle and can no longer form coherent sentences.

NEW: Collab Lab Launchpad

join the collab lab

I’ve started adding our previous experiments in do-goodery and assorted shenanigans over to the Collab Lab, where you can browse and enjoy our archives.

Obvs this isn’t all of our projects – even I’ve forgotten where I’ve put them all. But as I remember them, I’ll add more.

If you’re feeling nostalgic and don’t see an old cahoot that you’d like to revisit, let me know and I’ll add that one next.

Autumn Hangouts

New hangouts coming up 9/26, 10/8, 10/24, 11/12, and 11/28. Click through for meeting times, zoom links, and a FAQ.

Parenting The Path Of Least Resistance

Freaking out about the upcoming election? Whether you’re hiding your head in the sand or over-working to prevent disaster, we’ve got you.

We’re all dreading a Trump presidency – and many of us are still having FEELINGS about the rest of the options.

So whether you are eligible to vote or not, this is a brave space where we process our fears and create a safety plan for the next four years – regardless of who wins the election.

Free for LBT members, $12 sliding scale for non-members. Please register if you want access to the workbook and recordings.

Transitions Lab

It’s a party, not a lecture. So feel free to drop into our Polo cat or live hangouts to learn how to support your kids (and yourself) through life transitions.

Whether it’s ten-billion daily reminders to get your kid to brush their teeth or navigating divorce or being the new kid at school, we’re here to hold space for what you’re navigating these days.

Collective Action Toolkit

What does it mean to teach our kids about cooperation, teamwork, and interdependence through the lens of social justice?

Start with one story, and see where the discussion takes you.

October Toolkit & Story Bingo

As the weather turns chilly, snuggling in for storytime might feel a little more appealing than before.

Grab these books at your local library and aim for a bingo.

League of Badassery & Accountabili-Buddies

Wheeeee more terribly whimsical certificates to celebrate the tiny changes we’re making in the Accountabili-Buddies challenge!

spongebob victory screech

Little Wins & Failure Party

How do you motivate yourself through discomfort and growth?

Take accountability with easy check-ins to temper embarrassing failures and cheer on your small victories.

Coming Up Next

Over in the Ignition Notes newsletter, I started a monthly ‘Good Finds’ series providing fun bits of delight and relief. Keep an eye on your inbox for these tiny bites of joy, and be sure to share them so tired and isolated caregivers can find their way to our community.

When I say ‘drop-in’ I mean it!

The polo chat group and live hangouts are parties, not lectures. It’d be silly to try and catch up on all our old discussions before joining.

“Oh I can’t attend Sheila’s birthday today because I didn’t go last year.” – you hear how ridiculous that sounds?

If you’re re/joining the polo group, just watch the last video and say “Hey glad to be here, what’s going on?” and we’d be happy to have you at the party!

Meanwhile – leave a comment below with questions, ideas, or interesting updates about your garden.

With you,

– Ashia

This year, my volunteer compost garden is churning out summer squash and tiny pumpkins. Adorbs. But also spiky!
